ARN has won Best Industry Coverage at the IT Journalism Awards.
The award recognised the IT publication providing the most comprehensive source of industry information during 2008. ARN was up against a range of publications, including the IT sections of The Australian Financial Review and The Australian national newspapers, as well as CRN.
“The channel is an essential component of the IT industry – without it, the industry could not exist. It’s fantastic to see an IT channel publication, such as ARN, winning this award,” ARN editor, Nadia Cameron, said.
ARN president and publisher, Susan Searle, was delighted by the award.
"Nadia and her hardworking team bring IT industry news to the channel in a timely and analytical way. Today the channel and industry are almost synonymous through the channel's effectiveness in sales and distribution, so it makes sense that keeping the channel up to speed enhances the industry's success. Through print, online and events the ARN brand continues to dominate the IT industry," she said.
The Sun Microsystems IT Journalism awards, or “The Lizzies”, are designed to recognise excellence in the IT media and PR community and are judged by representatives from the industry. They are hosted by third-party agency, MediaConnect, which provides online tools and information services to connect journalists and public relations professionals.
The Seventh Annual awards ceremony was held at Sydney’s Star City Casino on April 9 and attended by about 300 IT media and vendor representatives.
