Ingram Micro has attributed its recent success as the number one site for wholesale and relationship sales in Australia to increasing customer traffic.
According to figures from online monitoring firm, Hitwise Australia, Ingram’s TechLink site was the number one portal in its Shopping and Classifieds – wholesale and relationship sales category in 2008. The award is based on the site’s share of traffic across all sites in that category.
In a statement, Ingram vice-president and managing director, Jay Miley, said the award recognised how critical TechLink was to its reseller customers. He cited tremendous growth in the amount of business it conducted online.
“This award underlines what a crucial tool the site has become for our reseller partners. The fact that the TechLink site is the most visited wholesale sales site in Australia is really quite remarkable when you consider that this award category spans all industries - not just ICT,” he stated.
Ingram’s newly installed marketing manager, Linda Pifat, said the distributor continued to make slight improvements to the site, but claimed its success was down to consistent traffic.
Hitwise’s annual Australia Online Performance Awards recognise outstanding online business achievement and acknowledge the most successful Australian websites.
