It's amazing the difference a well-to-do investment banker makes to the aspirations of a fledgling entrepreneurial company.
After acquiring Melbourne-based distributor CHA earlier this year, Trifocus (now known as CHA) has now mustered enough cash to buy out the Australian distribution arm of New Zealand-based Datamatic.
Without divulging how much money was needed to acquire Datamatic, CHA's director of sales and marketing, Roger Bushell said the new Datamatic/CHA distribution conglomerate would now be worth about $8 to $10 million.
Bushell said the Datamatic buyout gives CHA a strong distribution foothold in both Sydney and Melbourne.
And it seems CHA isn't finished on the acquisition front. Bushell pre- dicted that a major disk drive distributor outside Melbourne and Sydney is next on its hit list.
