Storage vendor, Promise Technology, has branched out from its Taiwan head quarters, setting up an Australian office in Sydney and appointing Lyndon Blignaut as its A/NZ sales manager.
“Our channel at the moment in Australia is not that big, so I’m focused on growing it,” Blignaut said. “We’ll probably appoint another two distributors and a system integrator that will be purely for a strategic part of the market, for instance surveillance.
“My biggest plan is to streamline the channel. That includes partnering up with suitable partners to push our products into the right channels and segments of the market.”
Promise's existing Australian distributors include Digicor and Westan. The vendor is looking for additional distributors that play into the server or storage market with complementary products. It also looking at entering the retail space, Blignaut said.
“We’re going to be looking at doing some road show events, promote the brand and the products in our roadmap ahead,” he said. “I also want to try and establish a training program that will incorporate partners and resellers, as part of on going education plan on storage and implementing our products.”
Before taking up the sales manager role, Blignaut came from South Africa and had worked with selling Promise products for seven years.
