Blue Coat makes stimulus package of its own

$US500 cash bonuses for resellers who drum up WAN optimisation interest

Application delivery networking vendor, Blue Coat, has announced a stimulus package of its own, granting authorised partners cash bonuses for deal registrations.

As part of the global $1 million incentive program the vendor will give Authorised, Premier and Elite reseller partners a $US500 cash bonus for registering a customer deal and getting a commitment to put a proof of concept in place.

The deal must include a WAN optimisation or acceleration component to be eligible for the bonus, and any partner that closes a deal before July 31, 2009, will gain an additional $US500 bonus for a total of $US1000.

Blue Coat country manager, Wayne Neich, said the bonus was in addition to other incentives already built into the deal registration program.

“What we’re trying to do is give partners the opportunity to exploit our technology for additional financial benefit,” he said. “The best way to a partner’s heart in the current climate is the wallet – we’ve already seen a very positive reaction to the program.

“We’re also encouraging our partners to rapidly build pipelines – customers want a greater delivery on investment at the moment, and WAN optimisation is a way to achieve that.”

In January, the vendor initiated a cross selling partner program around solutions from WAN optimisation player, Packeteer, which it acquired last year.
