Wireless software developer Jumbuck has signed a six-month fixed fee contract to supply its WAP-based chat room services to Telstra mobile phone subscribers.
Jumbuck chief executive officer Adrian Rischmueller was unable to disclose the financial terms of the agreement, and said it was a trial period worth "significant" revenues.
Five months ago Jumbuck signed a contract with US carrier Sprint PCS for the same service, which receives about half a million hits per day -- more WAP traffic per day than the total amount of traffic in Australia.
Jumbuck also signed up Globe Telecom in the Philippines, and is now targeting other English-speaking Asian markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia before approaching European telcos in the middle of this year.
