Digiland orders a 'pizza' from IBM

The link between pizzas and storage may be tenuous, but Digiland will be doing its best to promote the idea as IBM's newest storage distributor. Digiland has joined the list of distributors of IBM's TotalStorage NAS 100, a network-attached storage (NAS) device with a 1U form factor that has earned the nickname "the pizza box".

IBM announced the TotalStorage NAS 100 in July and has just begun shipping the product in Australia.

While Digiland has long been an IBM distributor, this is the first time the company has offered IBM TotalStorage products.

Big Blue hopes to increase its cut of the SME market and the new product is priced for "medium-sized customers", according to Peter Simpson, Digiland's manager for value-added distribution.
