Dean Vaughan has quit his post as channel development manager for Citrix after two-and-a-half years in the role.
Vaughan declined to comment on the reasons for his departure. He said he was now weighing up several vendor options and hoped to continue to work within the IT channel. In the meantime, he has taken a contract position with third-party channel consulting group, Channel Dynamics.
Vaughan joined Citrix as partner director in January 2007 after a two-year stint as channel and distribution director for networking vendor, 3Com. He has spent nearly 20 years in the channel community and was previously in charge of developing the networking and services side of NCR.
Citrix area vice-president A/NZ, Peter Brockoff, said he had split Vaughan’s management responsibilities across channel programs manager, Kellie Walter, and systems engineer manager, Toby Knight. Brockoff is now in the process of appointing an additional business development manager to bring its channel headcount to four.
“Our main goal is to increase our focus and facetime with partners and customers,” he said. “We saw Dean’s resignation as an opportunity to look at that. We’ll be keeping the same headcount, but also bring on a new BDM… this means we can do more with existing partners and have more day-to-day coverage.”
