<p>Here is the March State of Spam Report from Symantec. This report reviews spam activity throughout the month of February.</p>
<p>A closer observation of spam tactics in Asia Pacific this past month revealed some interesting highlights:</p>
<p>· Economic woes see a surge of stimulus package emails asking recipients to “Submit your Economic Stimulus Payment form”, as well as job-related spam including both offers of employment and rejection letters</p>
<p>· Spammers give their Oscar to ….drum roll please… Brangelina. During February Symantec analysed spam messages with a particular interest in the names of individuals nominated for an Oscar</p>
<p>· Russian bride spam fills void left after Valentine’s Day spam</p>
<p>· Spammers offer bargain holidays in an attempt to take credit card details provided by an unsuspecting end-user for their own ulterior motives</p>
<p>· Getting “paid” to write blogs…another spam “offer”</p>
<p>· Spammers – the latest variety of ambulance chasers gives possible lawsuit information</p>
<p>· President Obama continues to make spammer headlines in February 2009</p>
<p>· Spammers Go Green – spam now offers to reduce your electricity bill</p>
