Security specialist distributor, Unixpac, has formed a partnership with end point protection vendor, GuardianEdge.
An enterprise-class solution, GuardianEdge focuses on securing devices such as notebooks, portable storage media and smart phones.
Unixpac managing director, Tom Piotrowski, said it was an important area for the distributor to represent.
“The technology will do well in the economic climate,” he said. “Having a mobile workforce is being seen as a way to maximise efficiency, but the question then becomes how to secure that data.
“GuardianEdge has been doing well globally against some of the bigger name players such as Checkpoint, Symmantec and McAfee.”
Unixpac will mainly target Government and utility organisations with the solution, and will chase a number of big tenders that had yet to be completed, Piotrowski said.
“Many of our resellers have been requesting these solutions,” he said. “GuardianEdge has had a presence in Australia previously, but it was direct or through a small number of resellers. This is the first time it has taken on a distribution model.”
