Looking to expand its Australian operations, mobile networking vendor Xircom has appointed Jeremy Fox as country manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Fox, who will be based in Sydney, will be responsible for extending the company's business and implementing sales strategies. His previous role was as general manager of the communications division of data cable supplier MM Cables. He also spent five years as general manager of Bellsouth Mobile Data where he set up the wireless data communications sector within the company.
"Jeremy's appointment provides the right match for Xircom as the company moves from its strong position in wired mobile access solutions and into the wireless arena," Xircom's Asia-Pacific manager Chris McPherson said in a statement. "In order to take maximum advantage of the market we are moving into, we will need to refocus and reposition ourselves in 2001."
Xircom provides a range of products for mobile PC users, including Real Port and RealPort2 Integrated PC Cards, Credit Card PC Cards and CompactCards for Pocket PCs, as well as NetStation conference room networking and handheld solutions.
