Data#3 secures $3M desktop deal

Listed IT integrator Data#3 has secured a $3 million desktop licensing agreement with Chubb Security, luring the security firm away from its incumbent supplier with a new licensing e-commerce site.

The contract involves licensing for a standard Microsoft desktop environment on around 2100 personal computers located in 86 Australian and seven New Zealand Chubb sites. There is also the option of purchasing additional applications and server products through Data#3 if required.

According to a Data#3 spokesperson, the contract was won primarily through a new e-commerce site the company offers its clients which enables them to track and budget for all purchases made through the agreement. Data#3 will now be considered for future services contracts with Chubb as they arise.
