Harris wins on Adobe sales

Adobe has named Harris Technology winner of its Pacific Reseller of the Year award.

Harris won the award, which is based on sales revenue, for the second year running. It was presented last week to managing director Ron Harris by Adobe sales manager John Biviano.

"As an organisation Harris Technology has gone from strength to strength," Biviano said. "We don't view the company as just a retailer - it does a lot of corporate business."

Harris sells Adobe software under its open options licensing program.

The Reseller of the Year award is part of Adobe's ongoing incentive program for the channel. The company recently launched an initiative to boost sales in the education market with its Stay on the Edge Education Program. Resellers collect points for each Adobe product sold into the education arena.

"When they reach 250 points, resellers can cash in their points for merchandising," Biviano said, and with the program running until March 30, many resellers are electing to hold onto their points and cash them in on appliances such as digital cameras.

"We have a sales force of six individuals so we rely on working closely with our resellers," Biviano said. "Adobe values the channel very much so we run a number of non-qualifying programs such as movie nights as well as the more elaborate reward schemes."
