Minolta-QMS has appointed Seacroft as its Australian and New Zealand spare parts distributor as part of a new technical support structure for the printing vendor.
Seacroft will provide Minolta-QMS resellers with spare parts as well as administer service payments and provide a return to base warranty on selected printers.
The deal is part of a push by the printing vendor towards a call centre approach for its channel. Any enquiry that cannot be resolved by a call centre will be dealt with by a service technician who will visit the client site. If a new part is needed, the service partner will contact Seacroft for delivery to the site.
"We endeavour to have the part delivered the same day, or overnight, whenever possible," said general manager of Seacroft Australia Martyn Sparkes.
According to Minolta-QMS, the objective of the scheme is to keep printer downtime to a minimum.
Having readily available spare parts held in quantity for our local printer installed base means we can be more efficient in repairing or replacing printers that have service issues," said Minolta-QMS Asia-Pacific managing director Stuart Drysdale.
