NetComm signs Ingram

ASX-listed networking vendor NetComm has announced that it has formally begun a new distribution agreement with top-tier distributor Ingram Micro. NetComm, a developer and manufacturer of routers, switches, modems and wireless access points, signed the deal to gain national exposure in the reseller channel. The company recently re-engineered its channel strategy, introducing a two-tier training program for sales and engineering staff along with a new marketing campaign to target end users. NetComm has also appointed a new channel manager to implement the strategy.

D-Link to train Perth

Networking vendor D-Link has set the date for a free technology seminar for resellers and integrators in Perth. On September 18, the vendor will be boarding channel partners and key government and telco/ISP partners onto the MV James Sterling for a late afternoon of cruising on the city's scenic waterways while discussing the latest wireless, broadband and firewall technologies. D-Link said that similar events held in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane proved very fruitful. Channel partners are asked to RSVP to cristina@dlink.com.au.

ACCC eyes Telstra

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced that it is monitoring Telstra's provisioning and faults management operations to ensure wholesale customers are getting an adequate level of service. The ACCC has been investigating Telstra since last year over the way it services its wholesale clients. Despite several partner-friendly initiatives Telstra has introduced in recent months, the ACCC continues to receive complaints. The regulatory body is concerned that customers of Telstra's wholesale partners are getting less adequate service than retail customers, due to the telco's shortfalls in informing wholesale partners of network faults and its inefficiency in rectifying them.
