Intranet job up for grabs

Web developers and systems integrators will be pleased to note that the Federal Department of Health and Aged Care is looking for expressions of interest in developing a new dynamic Web-based system for its Commonwealth Carelink Program. The successful tenderer will be required to develop a password-protected, secure intranet-based system for the various Carelink centres situated around the country. These centres provide information to the community about aged care, disability and other health issues. CSIRO's good search

The CSIRO has been spending our hard-earned tax dollars on a good cause: developing the means to evaluate the performance of Internet search engines. The best of the bunch, according to CSIRO's Dr David Hawking, were Google (, Fast ( and Northern Light ( The three search engines were considered the best at locating services through natural language queries, while Microsoft's bumped out Northern Light to join the other two search engines as the best search engines to locate company Web sites.

FortyTwo's intelligent content managementSydney-based content-management developer FortyTwo International has announced a new partnership with online research specialist Digital Connection Group Australia. DCGA offers corporate marketing managers a research service, which includes online surveys to help determine relevant Web content. The two companies will combine their products and services so that any feedback from such research is fed back into FortyTwo's content-management product.
