Unisys has renewed its IT&T services contract with TAFE Queensland in a contract worth an estimated $58 million over three years.
The deal is a boon for the incumbent outsourcer, which provides helpdesk support for up to 8000 calls per month, desktop support for 13,000 computers, server management, data centre and network support, asset management, project services and program management.
The delivery of services will provide employment for approximately 100 Queenslanders and will incorporate sub-contractor arrangements with a number of Queensland-based IT providers, according to Unisys.
"Unisys welcomed the opportunity to test these arrangements against the market and we believe the decision by the Queensland Government to reappoint Unisys demonstrates the strength, quality and value of our services," said John Vickers, Queensland regional manager for Unisys. "We have spent five years working together to develop flexible service arrangements that are unique in public sector outsourcing."
