Share trading goes wireless

Financial services firm TD Waterhouse has launched a new service through which investors can make transactions on the stock market via wireless handheld phones.

The broker partnered Vodafone, who provided access to its GPRS network, and Airloom, who developed the software for the solution, to provide investors with a full range of wireless trading services. These include live stock quotes, watch lists, account history and balance, order entry and order status.

Potential customers can purchase a bundled solution from Airloom's Web site which includes a Hewlett Packard iPAQ device, an Ericsson mobile phone and a CD containing the Airloom application.
