Supply-chain execution vendor Vcommerce rolled out a new distributed order management system on Thursday that is designed to trounce supply-chain obstacles such as back orders and delayed shipments by providing heightened supply-chain visibility.
V-Order Management is designed to provide critical alerts and visibility across complex supply chains inside and outside the enterprise to allow companies to reduce operational and inventory costs, according to company officials.
"The alert is a customisable feature that will allow our clients to be notified if something goes wrong in the supply chain," said Steve DeFrancesco, senior director of product management at Arizona-based Vcommerce. "If I send an order and 12 hours later I know nothing about that, the system will create an alert for you. It has the capability to provide suggested resolutions."
In release v2.1 Vcommerce has enhanced access control and personalisation to expand inventory and order visibility and key performance indicators, company officials said. As a result, it can serve both buy-side and sell-side applications while supporting role-based visibility. The product also integrates views and control of inventory supply and demand.
"We take data from the system of record . . . put that data in a common place and give you visibility," DeFrancesco said. "That gives you one common view of an order across your supply chain . . . across your customer base."
V-Order Management v2.1 is available now.
