ACA Pacific has expanded its two-year distribution agreement with Computer Associates to include the software vendor's enterprise range of storage software. The move comes as CA attempts to bridge the gap between its direct and indirect sales force.
Under a revamped program announced in April, titled Channel Preferred, CA hopes to drive sales of its BrightStor Brand of products through its reseller channel by establishing processes that will see its direct sales force engage the appropriate channel partner for each customer, said Richard Collins, regional manager of storage at CA.
"Our customers will benefit from this renewed emphasis as resellers will be able to provide CA customers with value-added vertical market expertise and integration services that ensure the solution meets their specific needs," he said.
Traditionally sold direct to its enterprise resellers, CA's BrightStor range will now be supplied and supported through ACA Pacific. The distributor has had an existing agreement with CA for two years for the vendor's ARCserve, Mobile Backup, Choice Support and relevant security products.
HB Tan, director of ACA Pacific, said the company is optimistic about extending its CA product line-up.
"We are now in the process of recruiting partners and look forward to a positive response from the channel," he said.
