Services distributor, 24/7 Distribution, has hired Melina Musumeci to the newly created role of NSW and ACT territory manager. She was previously NSW sales manager for Leading Solutions and also held sales management roles at Commander and Data#3.
24/7 managing director, Tony Geagea, said the role would provide more focus to the region.
“She’s got a wealth contacts and great credibility in the market place,” he said. “Her role is going to be to embrace the 24/7 model and take it to the reseller channel and show them how they can benefit from the capabilities we’ve heavily invested in.”
Musumeci will focus on assisting tier-one and tier-two channel partners. 24/7’s tier-one partners include Datacom, CSC, Optus and Harbour IT.
“Being a services-based distributor, we really need to not just focus on educating the partners on how they can leverage our products and services, but demonstrate examples on how that can be done,” Geagea said. “Our solution hits home with a model that works on paying for what you use rather than having to make an enormous upfront investment.”
Geagea was still looking to grow the company’s sales headcount. It has about 80 staff around the country and internationally.
“The NSW and ACT team has been a significant focus to really equip the territories with the right resources,” he said. “We just want a lot more focus in the local areas.”
In December, 24/7 established a new Technical Centre.
