EMC has appointed its first national distributor manager, Leo Lynch, to cement its channel presence. The news coincides with the storage vendor’s decision to bring on Ingram Micro as a second national distributor alongside Westcon Group .
Lynch previously spent 19 years with HP in various channel-oriented roles across storage and consumables. His first role was to establish the vendor’s storage practice and distribution tier, including a partnership with Tech Pacific. He then managed HP’s consumables business for 11 years, before taking on a sales and marketing position across the supplies business. He left HP in December last year.
“We’re getting more IP and investing around channel,” EMC general manager of commercial and channels, David Henderson, told ARN.
EMC planned to bring on new staff this year to focus on channel business, he said.
“We will build our team out under Leo as we want to build solid infrastructure for the channel,” Henderson said.
Lynch said he was looking forward to working with EMC’s distribution partners and growing those relationships.
“The area that’s growing is storage, and I’ll be able to grow with the leader in this market,” he said.
