ASX-listed Freshtel Holdings (ASX:FRE) has expanded on its wholesale offerings with the release of a mobile VoIP application.
Called MobileLink, the application will automatically rout a user’s Wi-Fi enabled mobile phone though the home or office Wi-Fi network rather than the Telco’s 3G infrastructure.
Freshtel hopes the application will provide it with an additional revenue stream, as well as giving it access to a global licensing market by charging a licence fee per user and fees for customisation.
Freshtel sales and marketing manager, Scott Connolly, said the application tied into its broader efforts to provide an end-to-end solution through its wholesale arm.
“It’s a new market for licensing, and its ability to integrate with third party networks is getting us a lot of interest,” he said. “We’ve also recently launched a few new wholesale solutions around calling cards and a Mac version of our Cubix phone.”
The telco also identified strong opportunities to take its offering into emerging markets such as China and India.
