SecureData Group has strengthened its foothold in the high-end enterprise infrastructure market, announcing its merger with Vigil Tech last week.
The merged entity has retained the SecureData Group mantle and will specialise in designing and deploying end-to-end information availability infrastructures. Supported by a team of over 70 people based in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, the combined company's annual turnover is estimated to be more than $40 million.
Pure backup and storage specialist SecureData merged with fellow Australian company Vigil Tech, which focuses on database rollouts and server consolidations, in order to supply "whole of infrastructure" solutions.
Vigil Tech managing director Peter Robinson sees the merger as a phenomenal blend of technical and consulting skills, resulting in a holistic solution set. "Vigil Tech has strong consulting skills in infrastructure, database building and security for high-performance applications. But in many cases in the past, we have had to walk away from 'whole of infrastructure' solutions because we did not have access to disaster recovery consulting skills or specific product lines including EMC and Network Appliance."
"Our combined teams give us the ability to co-market each company's products and services portfolios to a combined client base," said Gina Burman, SecureData Group's HR manager. "The intention of the merger is to use the complementary products and skills to grow the company and take it to the next level."
