Sun gets new managing director

Andrew Goodlace to replace Duncan Bennet in an acting role

Sun Microsystems has a new acting managing director, with Andrew Goodlace replacing Duncan Bennet.

Goodlace comes to the role at a difficult time for the vendor, following recent announcements its revenue would drop 11 per cent in Q2, and that it would cut 1300 jobs worldwide.

On a more positive note, the vendor also recently made its first distributor change in 10 years, appointing Express Data as a volume distributor.

A statement from the vendor said Bennet left Sun after 10 years to pursue other interests.

Goodlace was previously Sun’s local director of sales and was responsible for managing sales and operations including Sun’s federal government interests.

Goodlace and Bennet were unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
