Software vendor, Quark, has appointed Simms International in a continued effort to improve its channel presence.
Late last year the vendor expressed its intentions to re-establish its presence in the Australian market with a channel program after falling off the radar in recent years.
Quark regional business director, Alex Nemeth, said a number of channel programs would begin rolling out in February.
“The appointment of Simms was to extend our reach and strengthen our program by creating more choice and support in the channel,” Nemeth said. “Simms’ strength from an Apple computing and design perspective makes it a good complement with our other distributor, Scholatic.”
Simms managing director, Danny Moore, said the distributor’s initial point of focus will be to call on existing customers, to bring them up to the latest version of Quark’s product range, and then reeducate a broader range of partners.
“We’ve got a number of other Apple software-friendly products, such as FileMaker, and VM Fusion, and Quark fits nicely in with these,” Moore said.
“Quark is looking to improve on its engagement with the channel, and we felt it was a good opportunity to fill a gap in our portfolio.”
