The Australian arm of consumer electronics vendor, Philips, will not be part of the 6000 job cuts announced this week.
The struggling company reported a fourth quarter loss of $US3 billion, prompting global staff cuts.
Philips manager of corporate communications, Sarah Campbell, said the company had already restructured its operations in Australia, having pulled out of the TV market in September of last year. Philips now focuses on health and beauty products locally.
At the time, the restructure affected 40 local jobs within the vendor's consumer division.
Campbell said she had not heard of plans to further restructure local operations.
