• 06 September, 2005 11:42

Telstra has selected Brightpoint Australia as the distributor for its new BigPond Wireless Broadband products – the BigPond Wireless Broadband Modem for home or office and BigPond Wireless Broadband Mobile Card for high-speed web access on the road.

“Wireless is a key component of Brightpoint’s product portfolio,” said Ettore Alterisio, Manager, Product Marketing, Brightpoint. “We’re excited to be the first choice of Telstra as distributor for the new BigPond products. They offer enormous potential for us to provide better support for our existing and prospective customers.”

Brightpoint is currently the only distributor stocking the products which are available to any authorised BigPond reseller.

• The BigPond Wireless Broadband Modem product provides easy, convenient Internet access and is useful for people such as renters or mobile users who cannot access ADSL. Setting up the service is quick and easy – it’s ready to connect – straight from the box. Consumers just run the install CD, plug the modem into a power point, connect it to the computer, choose a plan and they’re online! The recommended retail price of $199 including GST makes this flexible Internet access extremely affordable for the target market with the added benefit that the service can move house or office with the user. There are a range of competitively priced access plans available ranging from $34.95 for a 200MB plan, through to $59.95 for the 1GB plan.

• The BigPond Wireless Broadband Mobile Card provides high-speed Internet access for consumers on the move. It is ideal for road warriors who rely on high-speed technology such as sales representatives and business users. Whether at home, in the office, or commuting in a taxi or train, access for the web and e-mails is provided in selected areas of all capital cities and some regional centres. Fast Internet access also is available via Telstra’s CDMA1X network when not in Wireless Broadband coverage area. The recommended retail price for the BigPond Wireless Broadband Mobile Card is $299 (incl GST). This service is available on a range of plans from $69.95 for a 200MB plan, through to $129.95 for the 1GB plan.
