Firewall Systems has signed a distribution agreement with network access control (NAC) vendor, Napera, filling a hole in its security portfolio.
Firewall Systems national technical manager, John Labza, said the Napera offerings suited the bulk of Australian networks and would enable easier installation.
“We looked at what the size of most networks in Australia were, and what operating system most of them used,” Labza said.
“As a security distributor we’re well aware of the need for NAC. The problem was that NAC installations end up being a major project that many companies just don’t end up doing.”
While the distributor also offers high-end enterprise NAC solutions through its partnership with TippingPoint, the Napera solution would be targeted at mid-range networks, Labza said.
The NAC vendor has not previously had a channel presence in Australia.
In a release, Napera regional vice president, Mark Stevens, said Firewall Systems’ focus on network security, along with its product portfolio, services, and partnerships made it a good fit for the US-based vendor.
Napera’s chief product is the Napera N24, a NAC solution that allows customers to use a single product to control access and enforce identity of all devices and users, whether they are working remotely or on the local area network, across wired and wireless environments.
