Specialist distributor, Virtual Desktops Australia, has been appointed the master supplier of Pano Logic's Virtual Desktop Solution.
Virtual Desktops managing director, Craig Hynes, said the US-based vendor's offering was appealing both as a solution around workstation rollouts and as a greener infrastructure approach.
“The Pano box uses less power than a PC that has been switched off,” he said. “We also see desktop virtualisation as the next logical step from server virtualisation.”
Virtual Desktops won the appointment two weeks ago, Hynes said, and his immediate goal will be to appoint a number of key resellers in each state.
“Ideally, these resellers will be IT consultants to larger businesses,” he said.
Virtual Desktops was involved in a number of trial installations in Newcastle and Adelaide that were returning positive feedback, Hynes said.
Pano’s products were briefly distributed by Sentry Networks previously, but the partnership didn't take off, he said.
Virtual Desktops was established late last year as a separate entity to Hynes’ OzBeanz Networks – an outsourced IT provider for SMB offering hosting services with vendors such as MYOB and Kaseya. Hynes said Virtual Desktops, and the Pano solution, would target corporate customers more than small businesses.
