HP Compaq 2230s

This notebook is aimed at business users on the move. The 2230s is the smallest notebook before moving to a netbook. It has a 12.1-inch widescreen display and weighs 1.73kg. The unit runs on an Intel Core2 Duo Processor T5670 and is loaded with a number of security features including HP ProtectTools Security Manager Drive Encryption, which encodes sensitive information on the hard drive to make it unreadable if the notebook is lost or stolen. The HP 3D Drive Guard feature detects sudden movement and helps protect the notebook against impact, bumps and drops using a three-axis digital accelerometer. This then temporarily parks the hard drive when there are sudden movements. The notebook comes with 1-4GB memory (upgradable to 8GB), up to a 320GB hard drive, DVD drive and HP’s wireless assistant to enable and disable wireless devices. The HP SpareKey function allows users to gain access to the system if they forget their password by answering three personal questions.
