My favourite book or movie… My favourite book is A Confederacy Of Dunces by John Toole. It’s an absurd, hilarious ride through New Orleans with a fat dysfunctional hot dog seller and was published by a persistent mother 11 years after the suicide of the author. It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize. My favourite movie would be Goldfinger. The 1964 Aston Martin db5, Honor Blackman and Shirley Eaton – what more could you want?

If I could go anywhere… it’d be to the Ocean Club in Nassau, The Bahamas, for a holiday. It just sounds glamorous. Otherwise, I’d relocate to Perugia in central Italy for wonderful wine and food without the crowds.

If I wasn’t doing this job… I’d be a chef in an Italian stately villa, or a pro golfer if my talent matched my desire.

The person I most admire… I admire incredible surgeons for their skill and focus. I also admire Severiano Ballesteros, a madly brilliant golfer and sadly in the worst of health.

I really hate… minutiae and trivial issues – I just get on with it.
