Avnet Technology Solutions has expanded its vendor portfolio and signed a new distribution deal with ASX-listed IP security surveillance player, Zylotech (ASX:ZYL).
The vendor’s range includes Smart G Enterprise Protection, which is based on 4G technology and offers secure, end-to-end, wireless IP networked surveillance.
Avnet director of marketing and business innovation, Michael Costigan, said Zylotech wanted to expand its operations in the Australian channel.
“They looked at a couple of distributors and decided that a solutions model was the best way to go forward, which is what Avnet has,” he said. “Zylotech is seeing a real surge in the IP security surveillance market – there’s great demand in Australia and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.”
The Zylotech portfolio will reside within Avnet’s networking and security division, Costigan said.
“Along with selling servers, storage and networking, partners can also sell security software and surveillance solutions as well,” he said. “We’ll be targeting our system integration business partners.
“The real push is getting our set of business partners and expanding their solution offering and capabilities.”
Costigan said Zylotech had a relationship with IBM. Avnet would look at driving some bundling solutions around that.
He said the distributor would begin a series of education and enablement sessions for its partners throughout Australia in the New Year.
In May, Avnet extended its relationship with IBM to include the ISS security solutions portfolio.
