Interactive Intelligence partner, CallTime Solutions, has won a competitive tender to replace Charles Sturt University’s aging PABX platform.

The unified communications solution to be implemented is a single software platform that incorporates a fully featured IP PBX application suite and multimedia contact centre built for VoIP and SIP.

The NSW-based University has also selected Polycom IP handsets as part of the state-wide rollout.

CallTime business development manager, Greg Whyte, said the win was significant as it was the integrator's first university project.

"We have a number of high-profile charity customers and local councils, but education and universities is definitely one of our target verticals," he said. "The education vertical suits the solutions we offer."

The Interactive Intelligence solution was chosen from 12 separate tenders, Whyte said.

"Eventually, the university plans on having 7000 extensions," he said. "We have a lot of different applications within the Interactive Intelligence software, such as voice recording and mobility applications that we can add in later on."

Charles Sturt University has a network of campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and Wagga Wagga, as well as specialist campuses in Canberra, Goulburn and Sydney.
