IMC Communications has landed a contract with BankWest to supply 24/7 network monitoring services for an undisclosed sum.
The deal will also include services for its sister financial company, St Andrews.
IMC director of sales, Matt Dixon, said it was a significant deal for the company.
“It reinforces there’s a need in the market for this type of service and the strategy to develop a more comprehensive set of managed services,” he said.
Along with monitoring all of BankWest’s network devices through IMC’s NetActive toolset, it will also implement a quality of service (QoS) regime to help improve the overall performance.
The NetActive toolset includes a range of monitoring applications to provide network status information. Dixon said it had spent years developing the suite, which also offers support to other customers.
“We’ve developed a network management system internally that uses a whole bunch of tools. It’s been specifically developed to manage wide area networks,” he said. “It’s a system that we control, fine tune and tailor to meet customer needs.”
Dixon said the deal will span two years and IMC has hired additional network engineers and software development staff as a result.
