Enterasys mines WA for contracts

Western Australia is proving to be a happy hunting ground for partners of Enterasys Networks, as three resellers secure four new contracts netting over $1 million.

Industrial resources specialist networking company Applicon secured a contract to upgrade WA's Fire and Emergency Services network and provide a new core and edge network for the Insurance Commission of WA.

NEC has secured the first phase of a project to migrate the Department of Housing and Works' Token Ring network to Ethernet, while Avnet will implement a new Gigabit Ethernet network for Amcom Telecommunications.

The deals follow the recent win for Applicon and ComputerLec, which joined forces to implement a wireless network at All Saints' College in Perth.

Shelly Speer, Enterasys Networks' managing director, said such wins are becoming commonplace for Enterasys resellers.

"The customers announced today are indicative of the level of interest and activity nationally and are testament to the commitment our sales team and channel partners continue to show," Speer said.
