HDS AMS 2000

Hitachi claims the AMS Series 2000 delivers up to four times the performance when compared to prior generations, and also offers storage consolidation for iSCSI, NAS and Fibre Channel SAN connections. The AMS Series 2000 is comprised of three models: The Hitachi AMS 2100, the Hitachi AMS 2300 and the Hitachi AMS 2500. The new Hitachi AMS Series 2000 system offers users the vendor’s dynamic load balancing controller, and 3GBps serial attached SCSI (SAS) Backplane, in a midrange storage platform to provide a fast, cost-effective way to process and transfer data through a storage controller engine. It also has a spin down, spin up power savings feature that enables hard disk drives to be powered down when not in use or powered up quickly when required. The units offer support for Hitachi dynamic provisioning to enhance storage capacity utilisation and allow virtual disk storage to be allocated based on future requirements.

Distributed by: Express Data, Lynx Technologies and Acer.

RRP: from $35,000

Isilon IQ X-Series Clustered Storage

Isilon IQ storage systems deliver enterprise customers a clustered storage environment that scales up from 4TB-1.6PT of capacity. The units provide performance of 10GBps in a single file system and single volume. Powered by the vendor’s OneFD operating system, the Isilon IQ family of products creates a single pool of expandable storage. Once racked, Isilon claims a 10TB, 50TB or 100TB+ cluster takes less than 10 minutes to configure and set-up. Built-in TrueScale technology means that storage capacity, system performance and throughput can be scaled linearly or independently. According to Isilon, its IQ design harnesses advances in industry-standard CPU, memory and disk drives. The solution features four 3.5-inch SATA 2 500GB hard disk drives, a 3.2GHz Intel Xeon processor, 2GB cache ECC memory and 512MB non-volatile RAM.

Distributed by: ASI Solutions, Megna Systems, Techtel and WhiteGold Solutions.

RRP: from $50,000
