Alphawest has become the first Australian Cisco partner to achieve the Advanced Datacentre Networking Infrastructure (DCNI) specialisation.

Northern region general manager, Ian Smith, said it adds to its Cisco specialisations and certifications around routing and switching, wireless LAN, security and advanced unified communications. Alphawest also has advanced technology partnerships around wireless mesh, contact centres and telepresence.

“We’re certified to not only sell but install, design and support Cisco datacentre technology effectively,” he said. “Without this certification we would have to defer to another party and this gives us the ability to do it on our own.

“We’ll be working with our customers to help deploy these new technologies and the associated benefits."

Alphawest has been a Cisco Gold partner for the past eight years. To gain the DCNI status, the integrator had four staff trained up and had to upgrade its lab facilities with the appropriate technology to support customer tests and demonstrations.

The integrator will also be granted access to comprehensive sales, technical, and lifecycle services training and support.
