After Hours: Intel A/NZ area sales manager, Thomas Tapsas

My favourite book or movie… I read quite a bit and have 1-2 books on the go at once. I mainly read non-fiction, history, business and fitness books. I’m currently reading Mao’s The Untold Story and just finished Gulag. I read heaps of business books as well just to keep up with the trends. I watch movies when I can. It’s mainly in-flight flicks.

If I could go anywhere… a long holiday to South America and Africa would be great. Different cultures fascinate me. I usually spend time in Europe and Asia, so a change would be good.

If I wasn’t doing this job… I dreamt of being a pilot and football star in my younger days but design inspires me so I would like to create something new. Some sort of designer job, maybe a fashion designer.

The person I most admire… I admire the founders of Intel – Andy Grove, Gordon Moore, Robert Noyce – and Microsoft founder, Bill Gates, who arguably are pioneers of the IT industry and visionaries. I also admire Bill Clinton – I think he was a great politician – and of course my mum.

I really hate… There’s not much that I really hate but bad service, dishonesty and the Carlton Football Club rank high.
