US-based cloud computing vendor, 3Tera, will enter the Australian market through new distributor, firstservis.
Formed 18 months ago, firstservis focuses on “agile, lean and green” technology when selecting vendors to represent.
firstservis managing director, Derek Merdith, said 3Tera's cloud solutions fitted squarely within the “lean” technology interest.
"As a distributor we focus on new and emerging technologies. We see the next big step in IT as cloud computing, and our research into the market produced 3Tera as the best fit for us," Merdith said.
The distributor also represents liftshare, a car pooling solution from the UK designed to help organisations reduce their carbon footprint. It is also currently looking at virtualisation analysis vendors.
Merdith said the 3Tera product would be targeted at Citrix's channel. Part of the process of getting the product into market awareness was meeting with the vendor's channel team.
"We see Citrix systems integrators and resellers, as well as datacentre owners looking to wrap the solution around the datacentre to make it more efficient, as the people who will be most interested in 3Tera," Merdith said.
3Tera has not had a presence in Australia previously.
