Cracking the retail market

Despite the challenges of retail, local assemblers are optimistic of the opportunities within the sector. Lured by the success of the direct model and put off by the terms dictated by some of the larger retail players, brand name vendors are choosing to focus their energies away from the retail market.

It leaves the door open for assemblers to move into an area that has been largely inaccessible in the past. Larger assemblers have begun to seriously consider retail, spurred on by match-making initiatives from components vendors such as Intel.
