Express Data pre-sales engineer, Ray Lee, is organising a classic rock night featuring three bands to help raise funds for the Oxfam Challenge.
The IT industry will get the chance to rock out in true Acadaca style with Australian legends and former members of Hush and AC/DC, Les Gock, Chris Pailthorpe and Neil Smith. Two of the rock bands will also feature IT industry representatives including Symantec’s Lee, Harris Loefti and Emma Broadbent, Des Seeto and Anthony Miller from Cisco, (PMAA) plus the vendor’s former channel manager, Jeff Sheard. The bands are playing at The Harp Irish Pub in Tempe on November 8 from 7.30 pm.
The Oxfam Challenge is a cycling adventure through rural China that takes place on November 30. Lee has set himself a challenge to raise $5500 to cover trip costs and help fund Oxfam Australia’s work with poor communities across 29 countries.
Adventure seekers are also being recruited to take part in the Oxfam Challenge trips to Yunnan, China, Vietnam and Cambodia from November 30 - December 13. For more information, call (03) 9095 6562 or visit www.oxfam.org.au/challenge. Tax deductible donations for Lee’s trip can be made at www.oxfam.org.au/donate/paymentevent.php?WebAppealID=216.
