BenQ rolls out 48-speed CD-RW

BenQ has upped the speed of CD writing, releasing a 48x CD-Rewriter, the BenQ 4816P. The device features 48x write, 16x rewrite and 48x read performance and can burn a full-capacity 700MB disk in less than three minutes, according to the vendor. Its average write speed is just over 37x. Targeted at both the home and office markets, the 4816P includes BenQ's Seamless Link III technology for preventing buffer under-run errors. The device also offers internal IDE and is bundled with the latest version of Nero Burning software (version and Ahead InCD (version 3.28.1) for hard drive backup.

The 4816P is available now and retails for $229.
