Akai L8 Series 19-inch monitor

The 19-inch L8 monitor is part of a new series of LCD televisions from Akai that also comes in 22-inch and 42-inch models. Designed for home use and to fit in both the living room and as a spare TV for bedrooms, the L8 Series has an integrated high-definition digital tuner to allow users to watch free-to-air HD channels in 1440 x 900 detail. The housing incorporates a range of connections including an HDMI input, S-Video and composite video connections, as well as a PC input for easy connection to the home computer. The 19-inch model also has an in-built DVD player and a 3-in-1 card reader, giving consumers instant movie and image viewing. The L8 series also has USB connectivity, enabling the LCD to become a digital photo frame when users insert a USB flash drive. The 42-inch model includes full high-definition 1080p technology for improved picture quality but it doesn’t have an in-built DVD player or 3-in-1 card reader.

Extreme BlackDiamond 20808

Extreme claims the BlackDiamond 20808 is the first purpose-built metro Ethernet transport switch that aims to deliver a combination of value, scale and performance for converged packet transport. It offers 120Gbps per slot in an 8-slot system delivering 2Tbps of switching capacity. This slot capacity results in 10 gigabit Ethernet (GE) port-density, with up to 64 10 GE ports per chassis and 192 10 GE ports per rack. The device’s switch fabric provides capacity for future high density, line-rate 40 GE and 100 GE line-card upgrades. The BlackDiamond 20808’s architecture is optimised for metro Ethernet performance with fully distributed network processors that deliver line rate performance for a broad range of industry standard and emerging protocols. According to the vendor, the device enables a low total cost of ownership for metro Ethernet transport by cutting capital expenditures while minimising operational expenditures by employing the operational simplicity of a Layer 2 solution.

Epson Stylus TX400

The Epson Stylus TX400 is a premium all-purpose multifunction printer with photo features that prints up to 34 A4 pages per minute, copies at up to 30 pages per minute, and produces a borderless 4 x 6-inch photo on Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper in as little as 26 seconds. With a 2.5-inch colour LCD screen, multi-format card reader and PictBridge connectivity, the TX400 can be used without a PC and is fast, cost-efficient and easy to use for a host of typical small office tasks. Its A4 flatbed scanner has an optical resolution of up to 2400 dpi. The TX400 also has built-in card slots as well as a USB port compatible with USB 2.0. The machine uses Epson’s DuraBrite Ultra resin coated pigment ink in four individual ink cartridges to lower ink costs and produce reliable photos and documents that last up to 120 years on selected Epson paper. The ink is also resistant to water and smudging.
