Cisco has appointed a new channel director to replace Jeff Sheard, who left mid-2008.
The networking giant would not reveal the name of the new channel director, but a spokesperson confirmed it had made an official appointment.
Sources have speculated that the replacement is most likely to be Michael Lehmann, a former Tech Pacific employee, who has most recently been working for Singapore consultancy firm, Intuition, in their Sydney office.
An announcement on the appointment is due in the next week.
Cisco has been looking for a new local channel director after Sheard announced plans to leave the networking vendor in August and start his own company.
Cisco's channel sales manager, Claudia McIntosh, assumed responsibility for Sheard's duties while the company went through the process of recruiting a successor.
