My favourite book or movie… I like biographies of successful people and have enjoyed many in recent years including The Warren Buffet Way, Rise and Rise of Kerry Packer and Rise and Fall of Alan Bond. I also enjoy philosophical writings such as Machiavelli’s The Prince and Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now.

If I could go anywhere… Although travel is a requirement in my business life I still enjoy getting away for special holidays to new destinations. Europe is a favourite although the time to travel versus time available makes it difficult. For quick rejuvenators, I enjoy tropical islands and beaches. The Whitsundays is hard to beat.

If I wasn’t doing this job… I used to play drums in a rock band. I always enjoyed the thrill of performing live and could certainly enjoy something involved in performing again.

The person I most admire… I admire my family – they have been my absolute anchor in life and have supported me in all my endeavours.

I really hate… I’m not sure the word hate appropriately describes my feelings as it is really more of a frustration or dislike, but I do get irritated with apathy both in life and at work. We are all in control of our lives and the directions we take. It’s the decisions we make that forge that direction and craft the result we experience.
