EDsys to bundle ShadowProtect with servers

New value-adding partnership will give EDsys resellers access to a new disaster recovery solution

WA-based EDsys will offer its resellers StorageCraft ShadowProtect data recovery solutions with its servers for the first time.

The new partnership has come on the back of reseller feedback and a market trend towards disc-to-disc-to-tape backup solutions, EDsys business development manager, Steve Wells, said.

“We’ve not offered a disaster recovery product of this kind before – we’d evaluated products from other brands, but not really seen viable products of the sort for our business previously,” he said.

EDsys has attended training seminars and done its own internal testing to determine the viability of ShadowProtect solutions.

Wells said it would be surprising if the distributor saw any reason to look for an alternative solution in the future.

“StorageCraft is a mature company and the feeback we’re getting from resellers is that it is active in developing patches and updates,” he said.

EDsys sees the ShadowProtect solution as a value-add to its server line-up, and not a straight replacement for tape backup.

“It’s an advantage for our resellers to have access to this,” Wells said.
