Toshiba Portégé R500 128 SSD 3G

The lightweight Toshiba Portégé R500 128 solid-state drive (SSD) 3G notebook weighs as little as 887g and comes with a DVD SuperMulti drive. The R500 incorporates SSD capacity of 128GB in place of a mechanical hard drive, which the vendor claims results in a faster and more power-efficient user experience. Toshiba also has built the notebook to be ruggedised with enhanced reliability and durability, making it a suitable travelling companion for mobile users. The Portégé R500 series has a 12.1-inch widescreen transreflective LED back-lit display to produce better quality outdoor viewing. This model also comes with built-in 3G HSDPA for instant access to wireless broadband. The notebook also features integrated 802.11a/g/n wireless connectivity, three USB ports, one gigabit TX LAN, 1GB DDR2 memory expandable to 2GB and a six-cell battery that the vendor claims gives users eight hours runtime. Users have the option to downgrade to Windows XP Professional Media.

DreamBook Power M57T

With a black-and-orange finish, the DreamBook Power M57T has been designed for entertainment and gaming use. This custom configurable notebook features an Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.06GHz processor X9100, 64-bit 6M Cache 1066Mhz 45nm and has a 17-inch widescreen WUXGA+ (1920x1200) TFT screen. It runs off an Nvidia GeForce Go 9800M GT 512MB PCI Express graphics card and 4GB of 1066MHz DDR3 RAM and uses a 128GB solid-state disk SATA II hard drive. Other features include a fingerprint reader, Kensington lock and BIOS password for extra security and Intel Wi-Fi link 5300 802.11 b/g/n for wireless connectivity. Users also get a 7-in-1 card reader supporting MS/MS Pro/MS Duo/SD/Mini-SD/ MMC and RSMMC formats. The notebook comes running Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, and for entertainment offers users a DVD and Blu-ray drive, TV tuner and Web cam. The DreamBook Power also features an express card slot, three USB ports with an eSATA port and HDMI output options.
