Networking vendor, 3Com, has appointed Nicole Cooper as its new channel account manager.

Cooper replaces Steele Gersbach in the role, and will focus on managing and growing 3Com’s existing channel business while looking for new opportunities in the market.

“My role is to grow our existing business and to add on a selected number of channel partners who fit in with the 3Com profile,” Cooper said. “We are making changes to our channel strategy in light of our growth strategy.”

Last month 3Com and Westcon terminated their distribution agreement, leaving Ingram Micro the sole distributor for the vendor. 3Com remains 100 per cent committed to an indirect sales model.

Cooper was unable to comment on whether 3Com was planning on further recruitment at this stage.

Cooper has 15 years experience in the IT industry across business development, sales and marketing management, key account management and channel management roles.

Prior to joining 3Com, Cooper was the business development manager for Thales Australia. She has also held positions at Downer, AlphaWest and Data #3.
