My favourite book or movie… I am definitely a member of the watcher group. I was a heavy reader in my younger years but Microsoft curriculum books soon ended that pleasure. My favourite movie is The Day after Tomorrow directed by Roland Emmerich, with Dennis Quaid. It suspends belief in so many ways and rings true in so many others.

If I could go anywhere… I would visit New Zealand. I have been there a few times and I find the recreational activities exciting and picturesque vistas breathtaking. I have never seen snow, and I want to.

If I wasn’t doing this job… I grew up wanting to be a vet, then followed my father’s footsteps into electronic engineering and finally a love of computers. Now, I feel I would like to be a still life photographer.

The person I most admire… I admire volunteers and community-minded people who muck in no matter what. I don’t have any particular person in mind as I work with so many.

I really hate… poorly configured servers and networks. Sometimes they make me feel physically sick. When I see networks that I know are hurting clients’ bottom lines and causing undue stress, I want to just leave the room. Of course, then I return and fix them up!
